Mold; What to do and what NOT to do.
We've seen a LOT of mold cases the past 9 years. If you see visible mold in your home, the first thing to do is not disturb it. You can inadvertently spread the mold infestation throughout your home. When mold is disturbed, the mold can release microscopic mold spores which become airborne and can circulate inside your home.
What to Do:
- Stay out of affected areas.
- Turn off the HVAC system and fans.
- Contact SERVPRO of Plymouth/Wareham for mold remediation services.
What Not to Do:
- Don’t touch or disturb the mold.
- Don’t blow air across any surfaces with visible or suspected mold growth.
- Don’t attempt to dry the area yourself.
- Don’t spray bleach or other disinfectants on the mold.
When you discover mold in your home, leave it to the professionals. If you suspect that your home or business has a mold problem, we can inspect and assess your property. If mold is found, we have the training, equipment, and expertise to remediate your mold infestation. Call us today for a free evaluation and remediation estimate at (508) 697-5439

SERVPRO Addresses Physical, Chemical, and Biological Risks For Safe Restoration of Your Flood Damaged Property
Flooded properties can be risk havens if precautions are not taken during the renovation process. Such risks can lead to physical injury or exposure to harmful substances. It is also possible to cause additional unintended damages to the property. SERVPRO helps manage safety risks for the safe restoration of your property.
How does flood damage homeowners?
- Floodwater deposit chemicals and biohazards in houses
- Water and mud leave surfaces slick, increasing the risk of sliding
- The risk of electrocution is high once property floods
Although the most apparent problem during a flooding incident is the rising water that intrudes into different sections of the house, other issues present bigger problems. For instance, the floodwater might contain dissolved chemicals and biohazards. Wading into the water to perform removal procedures might only replace a simple problem with a severe one when someone falls sick.
Our SERVPRO technicians accomplish the desired goal of extracting the contaminated floodwaters while avoiding the risk since we use protective gear such as rubber boots and Tyvek bodysuits. We also use circuit testers to confirm no electric current flowing through the water or wet surfaces, thus eliminating the risk of electrocution.
What is the best way to safeguard against physical injury?
Unlike chemical and biohazards, it is hard to eliminate the risks that lead to physical injuries while restoring flood damage. Our SERVPRO professionals prepare the loss site to minimize the dangers by:
- Setting up the wet floor and other warning signs
- Shoveling mud and silt from the floors making the less slippery
- Securing equipment cables and hoses with tack strips
Flood loss sites are usually chaotic, with everything spread all over the place. The equipment used to extract water and clean soiled areas can add to the level of clutter. Our crews declutter loss sites before starting restoration processes by setting up a staging area for the equipment and securing any materials that might trip people.
SERVPRO of Bridgewater/Sharon can restore your property safely. Call us at 508-697-5439. We're Faster To Any Size Disaster.

"Why SERVPRO?" When it Comes to Disinfecting Services Both Locally and Nationwide
SERVPRO Industries Inc. provides updates to franchises like ours daily on any updated Protocols and Procedures as we learn more and more about this new virus every day. The Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak has been affecting the lives of people worldwide and has been declared a global pandemic. Recently, Governor Baker has declared a state of emergency in Massachusettes. With Covid-19 cases climbing, health officials are now focusing on methods to "flatten the curve".
Utilizing professional Disinfecting Services can be one proactive way to flatten the curve. There are several ways we can work together as not only a town, but a nation to flatten the curve. Another one of those ways being willing to stay and work from home to contain the spread of this virus. People are advised to practice social distancing and avoid crowded places such as bars, restaurants, shopping malls or places of worship. More recently, such places have been instructed to shut their doors completely in an effort to flatten the curve.
Another way we can work together to contain this virus and "flatten the curve" is by paying special attention to personal hygiene by washing our hands often and thoroughly. Don’t forget, panic buying everything in the grocery section hurts those who may really need it, such as the elderly population who might not be able to get to stores as often and easily. It seems each day new information, rules, and guidelines are being put forth in our country and state- so it is important to stay informed. An excellent resource to stay updated on Covid-19 news in our area is here, right on the official website for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts- Mass.gov.
If you have any questions about disinfecting services for your building or business, please don't hesitate to call us at (508) 697-5439. We are always here for you, working around the clock 24/7 to ensure we provide services that help make disasters "Like it never even happened."

Our SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters cares about the community. We want the absolute best for everyone. Call us anytime you need us.
SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters is a Qualified and Dedicated Mold Removal Team for Local Residents.
Bridgewater is a small city in Plymouth County with an extensive industrial heritage. The city of 26,563 residents sits between Boston and Rhode Island in the State of Massachusetts. Like most industrial cities, this place's heart is the Taunton River, which runs for 37 miles through Massachusetts. Alongside this river are numerous wildlife preserves and wetlands. Highlights of these local wildlife preserves are Lake Nippenicket and the Hockomock Swamp, a wildlife management area. The nearby State Forest has 62 acres of land owned by the Division of State Parks and Recreation (DCR). The upkeep of the state Forest allows the public to visit all year round, with the best access points coming from the West Meadow Pond.
Bridgewater's industrial town had several factories in the local area and became well-known for ironworks throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, several iron factories, such as the Ashmont Iron Works and the Superior Nail & Iron, remain in operation and a crucial part of the local economy. The National Register of Historic Places lists the Bridgewater Iron Works, one of the first factories to ship iron to US colonies, as a vital part of the community's heritage and American history. Following a massive fire, the Bridgewater Iron Works was eventually handed over to the council, who has since redeveloped the Iron Works Park area. The Stanley Iron Works park has a privately owned dam, excellent walking trails, and is situated just off route 28 headed South.
- The Black Hat Brew Works is a recent addition to Bridgewater. Since establishing itself in 2015 on Scotland Boulevard, it has become a positive presence in the town with a fantastic, rotating local beer selection- a must-visit if you are a fan of high content brews. However, the Crue Brew Brewery in nearby Raynham provides stiff competition.
- The C N Smith Farm on South Street has been a family-owned and operated business for over eighty years in East Bridgewater. The retail store is open seven days a week, selling local fruits, vegetables, and garden plants. Opening hours are from 9 am to 5 pm every day. Special events occur throughout the year for harvests, Easter, and festivals. Contact them at 508-378-2270 to book in advance.
- Eating out in Bridgewater is a case of quality over quantity. Prisco's Country Creamery serves fantastic deli sandwiches, Italian-themed foods, and sweet deserts in extra-generous portions. Chatta Box on Bedford Street offers a more refined dining experience serving a mixture of Asian cuisine to delighted locals all year round.
The Bridgewater Triangle and Folklore
Bridgewater is a rural, industrial township that has gained a reputation among paranormal enthusiasts, fiction writers, and film-makers. H.P Lovecraft, a prominent horror writer in the early twentieth century, set many of his stories in a fictional New England town thought to be based on the Bridgewater Triangle. The 200 square mile range of the Triangle stretches from West and East Bridgewater across the southeast and connects with Taunton, Raynton, and Seekonk. There have been alleged sightings of various phenomena within this stretch, including bigfoot sightings, popularized by cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, UFOs, Pterodactyls, giant snakes, and poltergeists. The distinct area around Bridgewater has featured in fictional TV shows like HBO's Lovecraft Country and the X-files. Particular sights of interest for paranormal activists are Hockomock Swamp, Dighton Rock, Freetown-Fall, and Profile Rock. The Hockomock Swamp was, allegedly, cursed by the Native American Wampanoag tribe in response to colonial settlers' injustices.
While these areas may have a reputation among paranormal enthusiasts, they are also vast natural beauty areas. The Hockomock Swamp is a wetland that stretches for 16,950 acres and offers incredible hiking, fishing, and bird-watching opportunities. The Bay Circuit Trail is the most common route for visitors to take through the Hockomock Swamp, which passes by areas such as the Profile Rock and the Solitude Stone- both sites of interest. However, there are numerous other trails mapped through the Department of Conservation and Recreation. This area comprises the most significant freshwater wetlands in Massachusetts and a vital area for wildlife conservation. The swamp is the home of 13 unique, rare, and endangered species, while the site itself is over 9,000 years old, which gives it essential archaeological importance. Visitors are encouraged here by the excellent freshwater swimming, hunting, fishing, and canoeing options.
- Camp Titicut is a smaller range along the Taunton River with mellow walking trails and camping spots.
- Burrage Pond Wildlife Management Area has hundreds of species of rare birds, fish, and animals.
- Oldham Pond is an excellent spot for fishing and has three islands within the 232-acre waterway.
SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters Can Provide Excellent Mold Inspection and Remediation Throughout the Year to Local Residents.
The primary method of mold removal in your Bridgewater home is to identify and correct moisture problems. A moisture problem can occur at home due to insufficient insulation, roofing issues, or as a direct result of liquid water such as a slow leak. These areas can lead to the proliferation of microbial fungi, which use enzymes to digest organic matter. Over time, mold infestations can cause permanent damage to a building assembly or contents by eating away at organic compounds commonly found in the home environment. Core areas of concern are porous and semi-porous materials like drywall, carpeting, or wood framing. Dealing with mold quickly using professional services is the surest way to ensure your home returns to a preloss condition.
- Our technicians have qualifications from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certifications (IICRC) body and follow up-to-date s500 guidelines for mold remediation.
- Extra services are available, including installing vapor barriers in your home and the restoration of documents and other valuables.
- We are available twenty-four-hours a day and promise to arrive on-site within four hours of notification of loss.
If you notice the visible signs of mold growth in your home, that is enough to justify professional assistance. Contact SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters at (508) 812-9732.
Who Can Homeowners in Our Region Depend on for Reputable Duct Cleaning?
10/12/2020 (Permalink)
Do you air ducts look like this? SERVPRO's duct cleaning service can remove dust and debris.
Protect Homes and Pocketbooks by Working with Our Well-Trained and Ethical Team, Why Your Local SERVPRO Tops the List When Bridgewater Residents Need Duct Cleaning
If you have concerns about your Bridgewater home's HVAC duct system's cleanliness, you need to ensure any duct cleaning experts you consult are knowledgeable. Some companies over-emphasize the need for cleaning regularly. Others might concentrate on clearing out just a portion of the system, resulting in dirt and debris in other ductwork areas quickly re-soiling the cleaned space.
Should Homeowners Obtain Duct Cleaning if Family Members Suffer from Allergies or Irritation?
Before lining up duct cleaning in Bridgewater because of a suspicion that dirty ductwork contributes to asthma or breathing problems in a family member, consult a health care practitioner. Although it might be possible that contaminants in the ducts are part of the problem, exploring other alternatives with medication, diet, or other treatments could eliminate the issue. Many allergies are seasonal, impacted more by outdoor conditions. You can always schedule a duct cleaning if different strategies fail to reduce coughing, sneezing, red eyes, and other sensitivity or allergy symptoms.
If Homeowners Suspect Household Mold Contamination, Is Duct Cleaning a Good Control Measure?
Taking charge of any duct-related mold issues is intertwined with the water damage or excessive humidity that drives mold spores' growth into active mold colonies. The connection between water and moisture damage and mold concerns is why SERVPRO is such a good fit for area residents. Merely cleaning the ducts in your home in response to mold proliferation is a temporary fix. We can combine appropriate duct mold cleaning to mitigate and remediate the water and moisture problem for a longer-lasting solution to mold concerns. The water inside HVAC systems often links to the cooling components evaporator coils. Leaks in return ducts can permit water to pass inside. These and other signs of excessive moisture are noted and can be addressed during high-quality duct inspections.
What Are Generally Accepted Reasons to Hire a Duct Cleaning Contractor?
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) discusses duct cleaning at length. A worry is that unscrupulous contractors advise cleaning when no or little benefit from the procedure seems likely. Improper cleaning can introduce particles into the air of your home. These concerns are why SERVPRO pledges to provide duct cleaning only by highly trained professionals when the following conditions are present:
- Significant and visible mold growth, in conjunction with remediation of the water and moisture damage that causes it
- Infestations of vermin such as insects or rodents
Other situations can result in substantial quantities of visible dust or debris, especially if the vents were open during an event such as:
- Remodeling or repairs
- House fires
Do Reputable Duct Cleaning Companies Suggest Biocides or Sealants as a "Save All" Strategy?
Regularly changing your Bridgewater's HVAC system's filters is the most efficient and effective way to keep dust, mold debris, other allergens, and more out of your home. Educate yourself comprehensively on the benefits and detriments of the use of chemical biocides or sealants.
- Limited use of chemical biocides and sealants can be appropriate under specific circumstances. Still, you might want to discuss their use with your healthcare provider if members of your family exhibit allergic reactions or sensitivity to chemicals.
- The EPA has no chemical biocides currently registered for use in internally insulated air duct systems.
- Research does not demonstrate the effectiveness of chemical biocides in duct cleaning.
- The potential for adverse health effects from the chemical is not as yet established.
What Safeguards Should Homeowners Employ When Choosing Among Duct Cleaning Contractors?
Like any home restoration or cleaning services, pick a local company. Traveling duct cleaning companies are here today and 100 miles away tomorrow. You deserve to partner with a reputable firm with a physical facility and a broad spectrum of services to address the underlying causes of excessive debris in ducts.
- General restoration and cleaning training from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is an excellent sign that the duct cleaning company takes every type of intervention seriously.
- Certification as NADCA Certified Air Systems Cleaning Specialists is also a plus.
With generations of service to our community, we are that local company, why SERVPRO inspires confidence in those seeking duct cleaning.
The duct cleaning experts at SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters proceed with skill and caution when clearing the HVAC system and other ducts in your home. Call for an evaluation to determine if your ducts need attention and the conditions that caused the soiling by reaching out to us at (508) 697-5439.

IICRC Certification Principles for Bridgewater Water Restoration
Being what we need for our customers in their time of need involves much more than accredited professionals capable of addressing water loss effects in Bridgewater homes. When disasters like water emergencies affect your residence, you want to resolve the situation as promptly as possible. There is often only a 48-hour window for water exposure before the saturation of specific materials becomes insurmountable to traditional restoration approaches, and these components must get discarded.
Working within that limited window is what makes our commitment to a fast response to water damage in Bridgewater homes more valuable. That fast response is one of the principles our SERVPRO professionals adhere to when recognized as a certified firm with the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC.) Prompt arrival is only part of the high standards that IICRC certifications embody, however.
Latest Practices and Equipment
One of the most direct paths that our team can take to help with the water damage emergencies that affect your home is with the latest techniques and practices in restoration or recovery. Beyond the initial training and education necessary for our SERVPRO technicians to obtain their Water Restoration (WRT) or Applied Structural Drying (ASD) endorsements, our team also ensures that our professionals have the latest and most advanced equipment to ensure the efficiency of drying, extraction, and cleaning after a water loss.
Continued Training for Water Restoration Technicians
Because of the high standards that the IICRC holds our restoration team to, we must take advantage of in-house training and education opportunities to improve the knowledge and experience of our team members. We strive to find new and inventive ways beyond coursework to prepare our technicians for real-time recovery decisions and situations they might encounter.
There is a considerable amount of work and training that goes into meeting the high expectations of our customers amid an emergency, and we continue to take whatever paths necessary to meet and exceed these expectations with our restoration work after water losses. No matter how we can help amid your emergency, give our SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters team a call today at (508) 697-5439.

Why Call SERVPRO for Water Removal? We Have Great Techniques to Save Your Bridgewater Home!
Once a water loss incident takes place, the interior of your home might call for extensive cleaning and recovery. While there are various services in the area that can help with water damage, the pros at SERVPRO have tried-and-true methods to dry out your space quickly and efficiently. One of the many facets of restoration that we excel in is the water removal and drying of flooring and carpets throughout the home.
With any project, including water removal in Bridgewater, we plan several phases of restoration and revitalization. We start in the area where the water loss originated because this is where there is usually the highest concentration of dampness and damage. We take a look at any impacted flooring, trim, and wallboards, but also pay special attention to your carpets. Carpeting absorbs significant amounts of standing water and is often susceptible to stains and lingering residues if cleaning is not swift and precise.
Why SERVPRO? Our Team!
At SERVPRO, we feature a division of cleaning technicians who are well-versed in water removal. This includes advanced strategies for removing moisture from flooring and carpeting of all kinds. The first step is to dry out your damaged carpet using a combination of evaporative drying techniques and weighted extractor tools. A further assessment is made regarding the condition of your carpet padding after lifting the top carpet layer. For further water removal, we employ the use of light wand extraction tools.
Bonnet cleaning and hot water extraction are two other valuable carpet recovery methods that SERVPRO uses to improve the functionality of the flooring in your home. The bonnet cleaning method is less aggressive and often used for carpeting with shorter piles. With hot water extraction, this is a more in-depth cleaning method great for all types of carpeting.
Whenever disaster strikes and you are looking for help with water removal, you never have to go it alone. All it takes is a simple phone call to our team at SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters, and we can schedule a team to come to your property as soon as possible. With our skilled technicians and specialized techniques, we make it, “Like it never even happened.”

Working with Bridgewater to Residents to Remediate Growing Mold Damage Concerns
Bridgewater Mold Damage
A water spill or flood in your home can cause issues further down the line as a result of insufficient drying of the structure. Among these issues is microbial growth. Microbes are tiny living organisms that can grow into a problem with the right conditions for growth. Mold issues can creep up unnoticed in dark, dank areas of the home. These areas may include beneath carpets, on insulation, subfloor pad, or the area between floor and subfloor. It would help if you had remediation once you notice the symptoms of mold growth, which may include stale odors or visible grey, green, or black mold colonies.
Like all living things, water is essential to microbial growth, which means there is some investigative work in remediating the mold damage in your Bridgewater home. Remediation technicians of SERVPRO may need to temporarily detach carpets or probe them using moisture meters to assess whether there are damp spots beneath or within the carpet. Disposable items like subfloor pads may also need to be cut up for removal and to allow inspection of the subfloor.
Establishing a mold damage remediation project requires careful planning and organization. Mold spores- the reproductive element of the organism- are invisible to the naked eye and can travel on footwear, clothing, or air-currents in the property. These tiny organisms need containment to make sure that a minor infestation does not get out of hand during the remediation process. When restoring mold, SERVPRO may need to demolish, agitate, move equipment, or carry materials in and out of the building. Without proper quarantining, these actions can lead to the spreading of the infestation.
When remediating microbial growth in a safe, controlled workspace, there are two vital considerations. The first is to find the source of moisture and perform adequate drying of the subfloor or cavity when damp spots exist. The second is to remove mold along with any porous infested materials. SERVPRO takes an extra safeguard against returning molds by applying biocides or anti-microbial treatments to surfaces, which can help reduce mold from growing again.
Microbial remediation is a highly-qualified operation that requires expert care and attention to detail. Contact SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters at (508) 697- 5439.

(Why SERVPRO) Structured Processes Help Complete Water Removal in Bridgewater Without Conflicts
Water loss incidents can be a perfect recipe for conflict among the affected family members. Sometimes such conflict is directed on the restoration crews. SERVPRO tries to manage water removal processes in a way that limits the chances of conflict developing. In case a disagreement arises, we choose to negotiate acceptable agreements, accept the job with disclaimers, or decline to work.
Apart from how we respond to the overall water removal process in Bridgewater, we are also careful about how we handle minor issues that can spark conflict, including:
- Handling personal items
- Health and safety of occupants
- Approximating the completion
- Addressing pre-existing conditions
In most incidents involving water, it is essential to move items from the affected areas to limit exposure to moisture or elevated humidity levels. Our SERVPRO technicians explain the policy about personal items to ensure property owners are comfortable with inspection of all areas. In case there are expensive or highly valuable items, we recommend moving them to protect them from extreme conditions and help guarantee their safety.
Pre-existing conditions can lead to problems between the parties involved. Our SERVPRO technicians find out whether the home has experienced water loss incidents in the recent past. That way, we can look out for signs of mold, stains, and other problems and notify the homeowner before starting water removal. Otherwise, conflict can arise since such existing problems can be wrongly attributed to the current loss.
Water damage incidents can pose health problems, including leaving moisture remnants or aerosolized contaminants in the air. Our technicians perform various procedures to ensure the home is safe for occupation after water removal. For instance, we perform full drying procedures around the property to ensure moisture levels are normalized. When using air movers to dry the property, we also run Air Filtration Devices to remove any aerosolized contaminants.
Conflict rarely helps when you are dealing with a loss. Call SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters at (508) 697-5439 to help. We're Faster To Any Size Disaster.

Water Damage in Easton Homes May Have a Time Limit for Drying
12/12/2019 (Permalink)
The SERVPRO team is setting up equipment after water damage in this kitchen
Why SERVPRO is your best choice after water damage
A surprising issue encountered by homeowners with water damage is that their insurance carrier puts time limits on the amount of drying time.
Water damage in Easton occurs commonly for many reasons, but each insurance claim is unique. The technology and advancements in the industry make water cleanup faster and more efficient. The next-level equipment used by SERVPRO works in the homeowner's favor to thoroughly dry your home in the allocated time.
Why SERVPRO?
Communication is critical during water loss cleanup. When handling the restoration in the home, the crew chief communicates with both the insurance adjuster and the property owner to ensure everyone agrees to the services performed as well as the time frame for the needed for extraction, drying and final restoration services to complete the job.
Thorough Extraction Lessens Drying Times Needed
SERVPRO technicians use different types of extraction equipment to pull the water out of the carpet and padding, upholstery, and other hard-to-dry areas. They do several passes to ensure the maximum amount of water gets removed before moving on to the next step in the restoration process.
State of the Art Drying Equipment
When fans blow on a wet surface, they can achieve some level of dryness after a while. However, the fans do nothing about the raised indoor humidity levels, which slow drying times. Air movers are not fans. SERVPRO technicians set up numbers of them on each water loss site to effectively pull embedded moisture to the surface. The dehumidification equipment is key to lessening drying times as these units capture moisture in the air and port it off-site. This tandem action allows the air movers to circulate progressively drier air rapidly in the water loss area.
SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters at (508) 697-5439 has trained, certified technicians with the experience and equipment to handle water damage in your home and make it, "Like it never even happened."

SERVPRO has the Experience to Handle Bridgewater Homeowner's Water, Fire, Storm and Mold Restoration Needs

Michael and his team are always ready and on call to handle all of your emergency restoration needs.
Why having Direct Experience in Bridgewater Homes is Essential to our Restoration Services
Building a name that this community trust requires commitment, consistency, and the right attitude. Since opening our doors around the turn of the century, SERVPRO of the Bridgewaters has delivered expert restoration services on-time and on-budget for residents with water, fire, mold, or storm damages. We appreciate our workforce because they are the ones who cultivate the core company values we believe are essential in restoration and customer service. All of our owners today have started as service technicians or administrators, so they understand the day-to-day workings of the company and have the experience to provide accurate quotes and outcomes for any of our restoration services. We are here 24 hours a day should any Bridgewater residents suffer a property emergency via our active call line.
Water Damage Restoration Services
Water emergencies are among the most common restoration services that we carry out. Our team has experience in draining standing water from multi-level commercial clients, state buildings, as well as a private residence. In each case, the priority is to create an efficient manageable workflow that covers removing standing water and drying the property. We then restore the affected area, or areas, to their pre-incident condition. Our technicians can communicate with you and have years of experience in restoring homes with water damage in Bridgewater.
At SERVPRO, we understand how water incidents can affect and inconvenience a homeowner. During an inspection, our technicians are carrying out vital steps to limit the scale of losses in the home. Furniture, for example, can sustain more damage with prolonged exposure to water. Our technicians can block furniture first to raise it above standing water levels and seal off potential areas where water could migrate into other rooms. It is usual for us to set up clean rooms for possessions while restoration services in your Bridgewater home are carried out. However, in large scale emergencies, we can also store items offsite when needed.
Removing excess quantities of water is a quick process that SERVPRO complete using a combination of gas pumps and extraction units. The next step is to put in place a tried and tested drying procedure that both controls the relative humidity while removing moisture that may have been absorbed by structure or possessions. We bring our applied structural drying (ASD) technicians in when there is evidence of severe water issues affecting flooring through waterlogging. Once our team completes these two procedures, satisfactorily, SERVPRO restoration services begin. We repaint, refinish, and disinfect your home to get it back to its preloss condition.
Fire Damage Restoration Services
There are few natural elements as destructive as fire. Homeowners face the daunting prospect of managing hot smoke damages, soot deposits, as well as odor control when confronted with fire damage in their Bridgewater home. Unfortunately, the water commonly used in firefighting procedures is going to present problems, like setting soots into surfaces as well as increasing the likelihood of secondary issues. It can be challenging to know where to start in your restoration service, which is why SERVPRO is available to your every day on our 24-hour call line.
Before entering a fire damaged property, you should first get an all-clear from a fire marshall because there is a chance of wall or floor collapse in high temperature, high-pressure fires. You should use the inspection time to conduct your insurance adjuster as well as a restoration service here in Bridgewater. Once you have received the all-clear, you should look to collect valuable documentation like passports, driver's licenses, financial information, and other items. Pre-cleaning surfaces and light vacuuming the property may also be beneficial but do not introduce chemicals or water just yet.
A SERVPRO fire and smoke damage restoration technician (FSRT) can direct the cleaning effort as well as conduct tests to predict the outcome when introducing cleaning products. Some soot or smokes produced by synthetic materials respond poorly to water-based chemicals which can cause unwanted chemical reactions or spread smoke around and become counterproductive. Our restoration services here in Bridgewater are experts at performing cleaning, drying, and deodorizing before restoring your structure and contents to get them back to a preloss condition.
Storm Damage Restoration Services
As a restoration service provider, we see ourselves as first responders when violent storms or floods affect your property in Bridgewater. The role of a restorer in these scenarios is to prevent continued harm to the property, then carry out the necessary tasks to prepare a job site for further repair. Often, the destructive power of storm damage on your Bridgewater property means you may need to bring in specialist repairers for electrics, remodeling as well as reconstruction. A SERVPRO restorer acts as the first point of contact between these different elements and manages the restoration of your home from start to finish.
On entering the home, the first thing a SERVPRO restorer does is to perform scoping tasks. These frequently incorporate safety checks as well as inventorying the condition of the structure and noting any areas that require extra attention. Immediately after a storm, general contractors may not be able to enter the property until contamination risks, hazards, as well as odors, have been brought under control. SERVPRO restoration services involve creating a clean workspace that ensures reconstruction can begin.
We gear the types of restoration services we perform in your Bridgewater home toward mitigation of losses. They are securing the property using temporary board-ups as well as sealing any potential gaps where rainwater or floodwater could enter using tarpaulin. Pre-cleaning carpets prevents soiling from drying and setting permanently. We can also drain and dry the property to stop water damages from occurring while repairs are underway. Storm damages can take anywhere from several days to several weeks. SERVPRO is here to ensure the process runs smoothly, and you get your life back as quickly as possible.
Mold Remediation
Mold is micro bacterial fungi that grow and reproduces when supplied with adequate temperatures, water, and food. It is common for mold to appear in a home that has recently suffered from water or storm-related incidents, but it can appear in bathrooms and kitchens too with no prior relational incidents. Depending on the type of mold damage in your home, it may appear black, grey, white, or green and can be odorous or non-odorous. Mold colonies release spores into their surrounding environment to reproduce, which can affect indoor air-quality by posing a health risk.
There are several steps a homeowner can take to prevent mold damage in their Bridgewater home. Fitting exhaust fans in kitchens, as well as basements and bathrooms, can help to maintain humidity levels at a healthy level. When humidity gets too high, the combination of temperature and moisture provide the ideal conditions for mold growth, which finds a food supply in many household items like cardboard, woods, drywall, insulation, and other natural materials. Small mold incidents can be controlled yourself. However, there is always a risk that cleaning can release more spores which may then enter previously unaffected areas of the home.
SERVPRO restoration services here in Bridgewater incorporate mold remediation technicians for persistent or significant
growth microbial incidents. We use professional services to decrease the likelihood of recurring issues. We can contain the initial growth using negative air-pressure or physical containment barriers to prevent unwanted spreading as well as demolish and replace materials that have become infested like drywall. Using air filtration units, we can also clean your indoor air to both remove spores and malodors from the property.

Accurate Assessment of Water Damage Remediation Needs: Why SERVPRO Is Bridgewater’s Restoration Leader
The damage moisture does to your Bridgewater home starts with a first drop. Likewise, the desired results we deliver to our customers begins with an inspection and evaluation of the harm stemming from excess water. Our experienced team assesses your entire home, including searching for hidden sources and pockets of water, before developing a remediation plan. The thoroughness of our approach is why our team makes a wet mess “Like it never even happened.”
Regardless of the reasons your Bridgewater home suffers from water damage, the steps our Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC)-trained technicians take follow the same path. We visually inspect for water incursions. Then we use sensitive moisture meters and thermal imaging devices to collect data for all saturated building materials and contents and hidden spaces holding standing water. Our commitment to a comprehensive search, including water migration into other areas, is why we are confident our team can return your home to its previous condition fast.
Our service vehicles carry both water removal and structural drying equipment, which is why SERVPRO Water Damage Restoration Technicians (WRT) immediately start on your project’s plan. Rapid water removal and moisture reduction are crucial to successful remediation, saving building materials that might otherwise warp or crumble when too much time passes. Pumps and wanded extractors clear standing water, and we look to negative air pressure systems to suction water out of multi-layer floors and from behind walls.
We also consider controlled demolition to release water and provide better airflow for the drying phase. Flood cuts remove a portion of drywall at and above floor level. Drilled holes allow drainage of water in concrete or cinder block construction. These steps greatly accelerate water and moisture reduction when done by our highly-trained professionals. Our expertise in these efficient methods is why SERVPRO needs to be your first call after household water damage.
The integrity of your home during water damage remediation requires professional intervention, explaining why SERVPRO of The Bridgewaters should be your first call after the disaster. Contact us at (508) 697-5439 for round the clock inquiries and scheduling of an assessment.
